Title: Dealership Porter Reports to: Parts and Service Director

Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for overall general housekeeping. Responsible for all product cleanliness and detailing, new and used Remove all water from vessels stored outside, fronts elevated and insure drain plugs are removed Ability to assist in moving product from one location to another, i.e.; to and from Service, to and from Sales Department. Ability to pick up and deliver various items including but not limited to customer product. Able to work under close supervision of the Service Manager. Ability to perform minor mechanical tasks on new and used units Ability to perform general facility maintenance as necessary Abide by all dealership policies pertaining to the department. Follow company dress codes and be well groomed always. Any other specific duties deemed necessary for the overall success of the department and the dealership. Maintain a positive working relationship with all other employees.

Knowledge and Abilities: Some technical and / or mechanical aptitude Operate forklift Trailer towing and backing skills Trailer loading and rigging skills Solid communication skills.

QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to obtain and maintain state driver license with motorcycle endorsement and PWC / Boating license High School Diploma or equivalent, unless still enrolled in school. Forklift certifications

MINIMUM 3 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN AN OUTBOARD SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS REQUIRED The flat rate marine technician is responsible for performing rigging, inspections, diagnosis, repairs, maintenance, and installations efficiently and according to Route 1 Marine's quality, safety, and time standards. Primary objectives include ensuring customer satisfaction and retention, and assuring units are fixed correctly on the first visit. We offer a competitive Flat Rate scale and a monthly performance-based pay plan. There is a reasonable expectation of productivity/efficiency. Work is 5 days a week Tues through Sat. Sundays & Mondays off. (Monday is an optional workday if desired.) Health Insurance, 401K, and vacation plans available. You must TRULY be an “A” technician that can work with minimal supervision. If you are willing to work hard, and you are good, the earning potential is upwards of $60-$80k/yr. +.

General description: Ability to work on more than one vehicle at a time. (if you are a good flat rate tech, you already know this) Determines root cause of the problem, not just replacing parts. Working closely with the service advisors with information exchange as to effectively communicate to the customers what their problems and options are. Determines the appropriate testing to perform to accurately identify the problem. Completes repair orders within specified time frame and notifies appropriate personnel if otherwise unable to do so. Determines required parts to complete repairs and coordinates with the Parts Department to ensure availability and timely requisition of parts. Performs preventative maintenance, cleaning and repairs of dealership tools and equipment. Provides technical advice and information to others as needed.

Required experience: Three + years of experience in an outboard service facility. All necessary tools required to perform repairs and services. Computer based diagnostic tools and software. Lightspeed EVO DMS experience is a plus. Familiar with warranty and other OEM process' a plus Required education: High school or equivalent Marine Training Institute - a plus LICENSE AND / OR CERTIFICATIONS One or more of the following OEM manufacturer certifications is desired. Yamaha Marine / Outboard Cert Mercury University / Outboard cert BRP Propulsion Systems Scarab and Sea Doo jet boats Marine Mechanics Institute
